These chocolate chips will disappear as fast as they leave the oven. I use Hershey sweetened choc-chips and walnuts.

A family favourite anytime!

¾ cup butter

1 ¼ cup light brown sugar

2 tablespoons milk

1 teaspoon vanilla

1 egg, beaten

1 ¾ cup flour

¼ teaspoon salt

¾ teaspoon baking soda

1 ½ cups chocolate chips

1 cup chopped walnuts

Heat oven to 375 F/180 C

In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar. Add the egg, milk and essence. Sift the flour, salt and baking soda and add to the creamy mixture. Mix in the chocolate chips and walnuts.

Drop rounded teaspoonsful on a lightly greased baking tray. Leave about 1 inch space in-between each cookie. Bake 10 to 12 minutes.

Cool on a tray for 10 minutes. Loosen the cookie from tray.

(Cookies will appear to be soft when just out from oven but will become crispy upon cooling). Cool completely before storing in containers.
